Freshwater Creek, Victoria

Yes, more food pick-ups happening this week... we've gone a bit crazy on that @humanrightsfest Menu for Impact.

This morning I picked up a beautiful box containing a @common_ground_project special dinner for two made by the women taking part in their Staying Grounded program. People from different wokes of life meet every week to garden, cook and connect on Common Ground Project's 4 acre farm. They learn to grow and select produce on the farm and then move into the kitchen, where they prepare culturally appropriate meals together, using the farm's produce of course! The women receive as many meals as they need to take home to their families, and the rest are distributed locally to those facing food security challenges. The meal I received today is part of the remaining sold to the public to raise awareness for the program. Saving it for the Saturday night movie with a friend!

Common Ground Project is a not-for-profit community farm that promotes food security by creating fair access to locally grown, healthy food - they have a beautiful cafe and plot of land in Freshwater Creek and are really worth a visit on a lovely sunny day (go with an empty stomach)! Another go-to location when the 25k restrictions are lifted.
