The front of the @foefoodcoop is a lovely patchwork of fliers and notes with “PLASTIC BAG FREE FOR 40 YEARS” really standing out.

The first time I went in January, I walked through the sliding door into the wood and brick room and sat down for a coffee and a chilled lunch plate... yummy, healthy and colourful.

The great thing about this place is the variety - it's a cafe and a restaurant, but there's also a board of campaign meetings which are held upstairs, a rack of second hand clothes, a selection of re-use materials, wholesale products, fresh fruit and veg and a shelf at the back which reads “these jars are free to use: help yourself!!”

Whist being all this, Friends of the Earth Food Co-op is a key part of a social and environmental justice organisation.
