Ever heard of Precious Plastic!?

During the Sustainable Living Festival, intreagued by this pop up stall, I took a trip to Queen Vic market to find out what @preciousplasticmonash was all about.

This team of students has built an absolutely amazing machine: the Integration Unit! It shreds and melts down unwanted plastic into moulds to recreate something new. It is also 3x3 metres which makes it ideal for transporting to demonstrations and workshops - perfect for community engagement. The coolest thing is that designs and drawings of the machines are all open source, based on Dave Hakkens’ models @realpreciousplastic
