Reverse Garbage
Marrickville, Sydney
This big statue of old metal stands out behind the market stalls and I have to check out where it comes from.
It's a @reversegarbage tree which attracts attention and draws you to their wonderful warehouse. What do they do in there you say? They save materials from going to waste in landfill and renew their value by making them available for reuse by families, students, artists and community groups. In their words "It’s one of the most effective ways we can reduce our impact on the natural environment. And it allows us to be more thrifty, more independent, more creative and more responsible in how we live our lives."
This great place provides materials to the public at low cost and holds workshops that give community members skills and inspiration to make the most of the resources they find at Reverse Garbage.
