Coburg, Melbourne

A long day of work ahead calls for an extra large dose of morning coffee! But rather than going out for it today, it's probably time to make some at home.

The other day, I dropped by Coburg to visit a social enterprise cafe on our long list of suggestions and pick up some great ethical coffee! @wildtimorcoffee is a registered social enterprise which buys its Timorese coffee directly from growers to ensure that farmers are receiving a fair price for their product. Behind the coffee, there's a a lovely story of friendship and connection which ties the four founders to the Timor-Leste local community, where they were deployed as peacekeepers many years ago.

Coffee is a pretty tricky one when it comes to supply chains, so it's always great to see cafes and businesses having a direct link with the people who grown the coffee they use and sell. Have you ever asked yourself where the coffee you are drinking comes from? It's pretty interesting to find out!
